2021년 6월 15일, E&CO R&D 기술연구소에서 개발한 ‘LNG 멀티 벙커링 모듈’ 이 한국선급으로부터 선박 기본 설계의 기술적 적합성을 검증하는 기본승인 (Approval in Principle, AIP) 인증을 획득하였다. 최근 국제해사기구(IMO)의 황산화물 배출 규제 강화로 친환경 연료에 대한 관심이 지속적으로 증가하고 있으며, E&CO는 이에 발빠르게 대응하여 LNG/LPG 등 친환경 연료에 대한 연구개발을 지속적으로 진행하고 있다. 2020년부터는 중소형 선박에 적용할 수 있는 LNG 멀티 벙커링 모듈에 대한 개발을 진행하여 관련 특허 등록 및 금번 AIP 인증까지 완료하였으며, 2021년에는 LNG 산업과 관련된 E&CO의 연구개발품에 대한 특허 등록 및 승인을 진행 중이다.
이와 같이 E&CO는 꾸준한 연구개발을 통해 사업영역을 점차 확대하고 있다.
On June 15th, 2021, ‘LNG Multi-Bunkering Module’ developed by E&CO R&D Center awarded AIP (Approval in Principle) which is an approval to verify the technical suitability of design concept in Ship from Korean Register (KR). Recently, Interests in eco-friendly fuels has continued to increase due to regulations by International Maritime Organization(IMO).
E&CO has been continuing research and development on eco-friendly fuels such as LNG/LPG, and LNG Multi-Bunkering modules for small & medium size ships from 2020 and completed patent registration and AIP certification. In 2021, E&CO will complete approval and patents registration for R&D products related LNG Value Chain Industry.
With steady R&D investment, E&CO is expanding business areas for the future.
