Completion commissioning of reinforced LNG fuel storage and supply system

In December 2024, E&CO LTD. successfully completed the reinforcement and commissioning of the LNG fuel storage and supply system at a research institute located in Chungcheong Province, Korea.

The research institute, B Institute, had been experiencing frequent failures and operational inefficiencies due to aging equipment in its existing LNG system, which hindered normal operations and in-house testing. In response, E&CO LTD. was contracted to improve the facility’s operational reliability by replacing critical components.

To ensure interface compatibility between the existing system and the new additions, E&CO LTD. first reviewed the original system schematics and developed new P&ID drawings for the upgrade. A new main pump was installed to deliver consistent LNG flow and pressure required for stable operation. The contract scope included replacement of outdated equipment, piping works, installation of the main pump, setup of electrical and control systems, regulatory permitting and amendments, and final commissioning. Throughout the process, a safety management plan was implemented, and a dedicated safety supervisor was present during all site activities. The project was completed with zero safety incidents.

Through the comprehensive EPC services provided by E&CO LTD., the research institute now operates an upgraded LNG storage and supply system that meets performance testing standards and offers improved operational efficiency.

2024년 12월 주식회사 이앤코는 충청도 소재 B 연구기관 내 운영중인 LNG 연료 저장 및 공급 시스템을 보강 후 시운전을 완료했다. 노후화된 기존 LNG 설비의 빈번한 고장, 효율 저하로 인한 설비 작동 불능과 자체 시험에 어려움을 겪었던 B 연구기관은 문제가 있는 장비를 교체하여 LNG 설비의 운영 능력 개선이 필요했다. 

먼저, 이앤코는 기존 설비와 보강 설비의 인터페이스 호환을 위해 기존 LNG 시스템 도면을 파악 후 보강할 도면을 P&ID로 작성했다. 이후 메인 펌프를 추가 설치해 설비 운영에 요구되는 충분한 유량과 압력으로 LNG를 일정하게 공급하는 것을 목표로 했다. 이번 계약에는 노후 장비 교체, 배관 공사, 메인 펌프 설치, 전기 및 제어 시스템 구축, 인허가 및 변경허가, 시운전까지의 업무가 포함됐으며, 안전관리 계획 수립 및 작업 시 안전관리 책임자를 입회 시켜 단 한 건의 안전사고도 없이 납품을 완료했다.

이앤코에서 제공하는 일련의 EPC 서비스를 통해 B 연구기관은 노후화된 LNG 설비의 효율을 향상시키고 성능시험 기준을 만족하는 LNG 저장 및 공급 시스템을 보유하게 됐다.
