E&CO LTD. Presents Final Project Report on Low-Carbon Fuel Storage and Supply System Equipment Installation

On August 19, 2026, E&CO LTD. delivered a presentation at the Completion Report Meeting for the Low-Carbon Fuel Storage and Supply System Equipment Installation Project, hosted by the Fire Insurers Laboratories of Korea (FILK) under the Korea Fire Protection Association (KFPA). The project was part of a government-funded demonstration infrastructure initiative aimed at establishing research facilities and equipment for a low-carbon fuel storage and supply system in City A, Jeonbuk State. The facility was developed as a key infrastructure for the demonstration and testing of low-carbon fuel technologies.
To establish the LPG/Fuel Oil (FO) storage and supply system, E&CO planned the overall process based on the finalized P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) and PFD (Process Flow Diagram) developed through the basic and detailed engineering phases. During the project, E&CO completed the required KGS (Korea Gas Safety Corporation) technical review in accordance with the High-Pressure Gas Safety Control Act, fulfilling the statutory safety verification requirements. In addition, foundation and civil construction works were carried out based on site geological investigations and seismic design considerations to ensure the structural integrity and stability of the research facility and equipment. Prior to equipment fabrication and installation, E&CO established ITP (Inspection and Test Plans) for each major item to maintain systematic quality control throughout the manufacturing process. All fabricated equipment was subsequently installed precisely in accordance with the approved engineering documents. Furthermore, E&CO completed the entire piping installation, including the interconnecting piping required to interface the facility with various fuel engines used for development and performance testing, in addition to the LPG and FO systems. This enabled the facility to support a wider range of low-carbon fuel testing and demonstration activities.
Following the completion report meeting, E&CO also completed the system integration and interconnection tests. The company plans to complete the remaining regulatory approvals, including hazardous materials-related permits and Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements under the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA). Once the remaining procedures are completed, E&CO plans to supply low-carbon fuel to the facility and conduct full integrated commissioning during the second half of 2026.
주식회사 이앤코가 2026년 8월 19일 한국화재보험협회 부설 방재시험연구원(FILK)가 개최한 저탄소 연료 저장 및 공급시스템 장비도입 완료보고회 발표를 마쳤다. 이 사업은 국비 지원 실증 인프라 구축을 위한 핵심 설비로서, 전라북도 A시에 저탄소 연료 저장 및 공급시스템 연구시설장비를 구축하는 것이 목표였다.
먼저 이앤코는 LPG/FO(Fuel Oil) 저장·공급시스템을 구축을 위해 기본·상세설계로 확정된 P&ID와 PFD를 기반으로 전체 공정을 계획했다. 공정 진행 중에는 고압가스안전관리법에 따른 KGS (Korea Gas Safety Corporation) 기술 검토를 진행하여 법정 안전성 검증 절차를 이행했고, 지질조사와 내진설계를 반영한 기초 토목 공사를 수행해 연구시설장비의 구조 안정성을 확보했다. 그 다음, 제작 및 설치 전 장비들에 대해 ITP(Inspection and Test Plan)를 수립하여 체계적인 품질관리를 유지했고, 제작완료한 장비들을 설계도서에 따라 정밀 설치까지 완료했다. 특히, LPG/FO 외에도 개발 및 시험을 위한 타 연료 엔진과의 연계배관까지의 전 구간 배관 공사를 완료했다.
한편 완료보고회와 동시에 계통 연동시험을 마친 이앤코는 위험물 인허가와 산업안전공단 PSM(Process Safety Management)을 포함한 잔여 인허가를 마친 후 올해 하반기에 저탄소 연료를 공급하여 전체 통합 시운전을 수행할 예정이다.
