E&CO LTD. completes engineering design and technical review for ammonia facility and liquefied ammonia system

In December 2023, E&CO LTD. successfully completed two engineering contracts with A research institute based in Daejeon: a design service for ammonia facility construction and a detailed engineering and technical review for a liquefied ammonia system.
This scope of work was a prerequisite for establishing a high-pressure ammonia gas storage and supply system at the institute. The main tasks included drafting the project execution plan, selecting equipment specifications and valve lists, preparing civil foundation drawings and conducting geotechnical investigations, as well as developing process diagrams. Notably, leveraging its technical review expertise, E&CO LTD. successfully obtained a High-Pressure Gas General Manufacturing License from the Daejeon Metropolitan Government and completed the Korea Gas Safety (KGS) technical documentation.
Through this engagement, E&CO LTD. once again demonstrated its expertise in engineering design and regulatory documentation for ammonia systems. The partnering research institute is expected to proceed with the construction of a liquefied ammonia facility, which will be used to develop and evaluate the performance of ammonia-fueled engines. The facility aims to generate reliable performance data to support the advancement of ammonia-based propulsion technologies.
2023년 12월 주식회사 이앤코는 대전 소재 A 연구기관과 계약한 암모니아 설비공사 설계용역, 액화 암모니아 설비 상세설계 및 기술검토 용역을 완료했다.
연구기관 내 암모니아 고압가스 저장 및 공급시설을 구축하기 전 필수 작업인 이번 용역은 사업계획서 작성, 장비 사양과 밸브리스트 선정, 토목기초도면 및 지반조사, 공정도면 작성 등이 주요 과업이었다. 특히, 당사가 자랑하는 기술검토 능력을 바탕으로 관할구역인 대전광역시에 고압가스일반제조 허가증 획득과 KGS 기술검토서 작성을 완료했다.
이앤코는 이번 용역을 통해 암모니아 설비 구축을 위한 설계와 기술검토서류 작성에 대한 전문성을 또 한 번 입증하게 됐다. A 연구기관에서는 뒤이어 액화 암모니아 설비를 구축할 예정이며, 구축된 설비를 통해 암모니아 엔진의 개발 및 성능평가를 수행하여 암모니아 연료 엔진의 신뢰성 있는 데이터를 확보를 목표로 하고있다.
