E&CO LTD. successfully delivers EPC contract for liquid ammonia fuel storage and supply system

In October 2023, E&CO LTD. successfully completed the delivery of two EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Commissioning) contracts with the Korean Register (KR) for an ammonia fuel storage system and an ammonia fuel supply system.

The systems were installed at the KR Green Ship Equipment Test & Certification Center located in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do. The scope of the EPC contract covered end-to-end services including system design, equipment installation, construction, commissioning, operational support, and training. In particular, the design and fabrication took into account the unique properties of ammonia its high pressure, flammability, and toxicity. The project also included detailed engineering, technical reviews, Korea Gas Safety (KGS) inspections, and the acquisition of regulatory approvals for ammonia manufacturing facilities, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise.

After finished this project, E&CO LTD. has once again proven its EPC capabilities in ammonia fuel infrastructure. With the completion of this delivery, the Korean Register now possesses dedicated infrastructure to support LNG-ammonia dual-fuel engine testing using ammonia fuel.

2023년 10월 주식회사 이앤코는 한국선급(KR)과 계약한 암모니아 연료 저장 시스템, 암모니아 연료 공급 시스템 두 건의 EPC(Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning) 계약을 납품완료했다.

한국선급 그린쉽기자재 시험인증센터(전라북도 군산시) 내 설치된 이번 설비는 암모니아 연료 공급 및 저장 설비의 설계부터 장비설치 및 시공, 시운전, 시스템 운용 및 교육이 포함된 계약이다. 특히 암모니아의 특수성(고압, 가연성, 독성)을 고려하여 설계, 제작했으며, 작성한 상세설계도를 바탕으로 기술검토, KGS 시설 완성검사, 암모니아 제조시설 인허가까지 전문성을 요구하는 설비이다.

이번 납품을 통해 이앤코는 암모니아 연료 설비의 EPC 수행능력을 증명하게 됐으며, 한국선급은 LNG-암모니아 혼소엔진에 암모니아 연료를 활용할 수 있는 설비를 보유하게됐다.
